Well, this still sets my Spider-sense a tingling. Not that I expect 'em to adapt an Eisner piece, and I certainly believe Miller is being quite respectful to Will's work in his movie. But I hate to see The Spirit being sold as Sin City. We'll see… my mind's still open. A crack.

What color is The Spirit's suit?Who's playing Ebony?Very little faith that this will be more Eisner than Miller. It'll be entertaining, but The Spirit will still be on my bookshelf, safe and unchanged.

That's true.I have a lot of faith in Frank — when it's come to taking up the cause of respect for comics creators, Frank has always been in the front of the bus. But Hollywood… well, that's another matter.

I think it's a very effective poster. It basically says, "From the guy that brought you SIN CITY…" Let's face it, to the general public, the draw isn't going to be Will Eisner, but Frank Miller. Now, I think Miller is smart enough not to try to turn The Spirit into anything like Sin City. I took a look at the brief synopsis and cast/characters list on Superhero Hype. From what little I can deduce, Miller seems to be staying pretty close to the original spirit of THE SPIRIT. It seems like a mix of hokey humor, melodrama, mystery and action. I haven't seen frame one yet, but I think I will buy a ticket come 2009, at least at matinée prices or the discount theater. At least this poster doesn't have the Spirit idressed up like a sepia toned Spartan! Maybe they need to start another ad campaign, "300 reasons to see THE SPIRIT!"
