A release date for the direct-to-DVD film has not yet been announced, but it is believed the film will debut in the second half of 2008.
Viewers can see a high-resolution version of the trailer at Marvel’s website.
huh. maybe.Gonna have to go some to beat (or even equal) the JLA "New Frontier", though.
Or even deserve to be racked in the same stores. This one did nothing for me.
Looks cute I guess, but I can imagine the concept meeting:"So, hey, okay. We've got a couple thousand characters to chose from, we just need to start narrow-""Nah, forget that. All those characters have been around for decades. They have fans already. They have tons of stories we can easily adapt. Make some new ones."
Oh, I can imagine the concept meeting."How do we squeeze out some new merchandising deals? Get some more action figures going? We're already done the Ultimate copycat… what's next?"And then the one person in America who enjoyed those damn Looney Tunes babies stood up…
I'll go on record as saying that the animation looks very cheap. Lots of images sliding across the screen without much movement. Really, this looks like crap from top to bottom, from concept to execution. Who gets credit for writing and directing this dreck, Alan Smithee?
Hey – Tiny Toons was fun.Now "Muppet Babies"…
Tiny Toons was pretty good, not as good as Animaniacs, but OK. Baby Loony Tunes was a perversion, right along side Muppet Babies. I will go on record as saying that I hated Flintstone Kids, A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Baby Felix, Gadget Boy & Heather, Jungle Cubs, Tom and Jerry Kids and Yo Yogi. ALL PERVERSIONS!I cobbled much of this list together from the Wikipedia article, "Younger and Junior versions of cartoon characters":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_versions_of_ca…The exceptions, in my opinion, to the rule that younger versions are generally perversions are Tiny Toons and X-Men: Evolution.
Is it just me, or does Marvel ALWAYS put TERRIBLE music into their animated movies? Of course, the animation, and voice acting are oscar worthy as well! They just don't get it. The flashback stuff, with Giant man, vision, hawkeye, etc……Thats what I want to see!! That looked cool……….then, we get The story of Moses…errrr…Avenger Babies????? No Thanks Marvel.
It feels a lot like the Avengers meet Tiny Toons. I can see why it's a straight to DVD video, I hope there isn't a comic book tie in to go with it.
Here a reference to a "Mavel Kids" feature I found in the ComicMix archives. http://www.comicmix.com/news/2007/05/06/tom-artis…
Could we just skip the later part with the kids and have a DVD showing an extended version of the set up? A battle between that particular group of Avengers and Ultron would be more likely to get me to shell out (pardon the expression) some bucks than the concept they are trying to sell here.Just one bitter old farts opinion, of course!
