I suppose Patrick Stewart is a bit old for the part, but I sure would've liked to have seen him tear into one of Spider's rants.

Stewart may be a bit old for Spider, but he's just about the right age to play Yelena's father, if the story features the latter part of the Smiler story arc.

I kind of pictured Johnny Depp doing it, the character is based off of Hunter S. Thompson, who he nailed when he was "Fear & Loathing…", but that won't happen because that would only make sense

are we forgetting woody harrelson from natural born killers? I think he would have done a terrific job. spider is a non-controllable character, and i don't think that Roth is capable of doing that after his ok-but-kinda-lame job in funny games. woody, on the other hand, is quite capable of playing a semi-twisted character and take it all out.

I always kind of pictured Maynard James Keenan of Tool/A Perfect Circle as Spider. I know he is not an actor but his look and voice remind me of spider. He actually did a little acting with Ed Asner in an indie movie called Sleeping Dogs Liehttp://www.sdlmovie.com/home.htm#

Jackie Earle Haley would make a great Spider. He looks that part and you know he can act.

I think the perfect actor to portray spider would have to be joe pantoliano. Perfect!
