Presidential candidate Ron Paul picks his super-hero favorite

Martha Thomases

Martha Thomases brought more comics to the attention of more people than anyone else in the industry. Her work promoting The Death of Superman made an entire nation share in the tragedy of one of our most iconic American heroes. As a freelance journalist, she has been published in the Village Voice, High Times, Spy, the National Lampoon, Metropolitan Home, and more. For Marvel comics she created the series Dakota North. Martha worked as a researcher and assistant for the author Norman Mailer on several of his books, including the Pulitzer-Prize-winning Executioner's Song, On Women and Their Elegance, Ancient Evenings, and Harlot's Ghost.

Every Superhero needs a blimp, now Dr. Paul has one. Now he has air superiority (along with idea superiority). Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that “there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between” Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like “America Deceived’ from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason.Support Dr. Ron Paul and save this great nation.Last link (before Google Books bends to gov’t Will and drops the title):http://www.iuniverse.com/bookstore/book_detail.as

Paultards are beholden to no man, they get paid solely in the attention and the feeling of 'belonging' that are solely missing in their day-to-day lives.

Oh give me a break. One of his 20-something staffers probably read it and said, "Hey Ron! They use the word "libertarian" in this story! It'll help you connect with the 20-something-on-the-fence-comic-book-moderate-crowd! I'll give you a 5 minute briefing!"

    • James Joe Aragon says:

Actually, it because of the referral to Von Mises. You should Google him.

    • bilbo says:

Corto, you are right to be cynical about politicians, but you are wrong about Dr. Paul. He has been associating himself with the great economist, Ludwig Von Mises, and the Austrian School of economics for years and has written books on the subject. So, for Issue #11 to identify Von Mises as a heroic figure is fairly amazing to those fans of Ron Paul who have been devotees of the Austrian School for years. Try checking out LewRockwell.com or Mises.org for more information if you doubt what I say. I hope you enjoy finding out more about a real life super hero. Best regards, Bilbo

Uh, maybe I'm pointing out the obvious but isn't it Bruce Wayne and not "Baruce Wane"?

    • Glenn Hauman says:

Nope. It's a Batman from an alternate history– in this case, Baruch Wane is a German painter and playboy in the 1930's, just before Hitler came to full power.
