I haven't read this book, but it sounds like it's not especially good, judging by your review. I do kind of take issue with your assertion that comics aren't good at physical comedy. You just need a good artist to make it work, like Kyle Baker or Sergio Aragones. It's all about the timing, if you ask me; which moment do you choose to depict? The person getting smacked or squirted? The aftermath, with them dripping wet, wiping pie filling from their face, or laying face-down on the floor? Good cartoonists pick the exact moments to show us, and their use of exaggeration or facial expression can make it hilariously funny; I often laugh out loud when I read Kyle Baker's comics, like Plastic Man or The Bakers. So, while it might not work here, it can certainly be done, and done very well.Matt BradyWarren Peace Sings the Blues (http://warren-peace.blogspot.com)
