Braintrust Question: Spider-Man 3
Every so often I come across a question that even I cannot answer. It saddens me to admit this, but there are times when it happens.
But now, I have an invaluable resource that I never had before — ComicMix readers.
So every once in a while, when we come across a question here that even our crack staff can’t answer, we’re going to throw it out to the floor and ask you, as we know that collectively, you guys are smarter than we are and know many things that we don’t.
So here’s our first question. Take a look at this shot from Spider-Man 3, about four minutes into the film.
See the girl at the far left? You see her on screen for just a few seconds, so it’s tough to tell, but– is that Paris Hilton?
I’m really hoping not, because I really don’t want to have to start covering Paris Hilton stories here…
Please post your answers in comments. Any documentable proof would be nice.
Well… I'm not an expert on Paris Hilton, but I don't think that looks anything like her. If anything it looks more like the cheerleader.
It is absolutely not Paris
I actually noticed it during the movie. It is either her or a double.
Even if it is, please don't cover her stories. I want her to go away, so badly.
The cheerleader? Hayden Pantierre, from Heroes? I'm sure it's not her.
If you hadn't asked, I wouldn't even have thought to look. But I gave it a good solid stare and . . .nuthin'. I'm with Mr. McManus on this: don't think it looks anything like her. And, having seen Hayden up close (huzzah!) I can attest that ain't her, neither. But I find it . . .interesting that your subconcious projected Paris' face on that actress. How long have you had these feelings, Mr. Hauman?

As I said, it's hard to tell from the photo, and it's not a, shall we say, authorized framegrab. But it seemed much clearer in the film– I suspect it was the haughtiness that was displayed. On the other hand, I can't imagine somebody not making a big deal of it for press coverage– on the other other hand, if it was her, I could easily see Sony et al keeping mum about it at this time.
Going away, Sent up the River, A trip to the Big House — How can you not cover that ?
It's easy. Just think good thoughts and take another road.
"How can you not cover that?"!?! Uhhhhh…cover what? A spoiled, IQ-challenged attention-whore who doesn't know what "suspended driver's license" means? In better days, not covering that was called "common sense," "basic decency," and even "kindness." And today, "how can you not cover that" is increasingly easy considering that every…other…news…and…media…source is covering that … to the detriment of their credibility, credo, and the true needs of their audience.
