Spider-Man shovels it in
Spider-Man 3 has already earned nearly $30,000,000 and it hasn’t even opened in the United States.
The blockbuster-in-making has taken in a bundle in such places as France, Italy, South Korea and Hong Kong, according to the Associated Press. You may have heard it’s opening in the States on Friday.
Then again, you may already be in line for the midnight showing.
$30,000,000 is an insane amount of money.
Pretty, pretty bracelets. :) Lovin' it Mark. The splash (pun intended) of LJ leaping is done wonderfully. The painterly style to your color work is inspiring me to try it out myself… maybe I'll do a little fan art one of these nights. :)
Actually, that's a SPLISH page – not a SPLASH page. :)
I love all these industry insider terms! Happy birthday Mark!
This episode seems more familiar, even down to the dive into the river. I'm comfortable with this scenario, but I'm not surprised by it. This feels like the turnaround on a 12 bar blues. This let's you know that this verse is done, so get ready for the next verse.I got them Lone Justice Blues, (KRAK SMAK) don't want to get shot at no mo'Can't these Blue Boys see the clues, I'm being set up, that's fo' sho'Copper says, "You better Stand and Deliver!" (POW! K-POW! KOW!)But Splish Splash, think I'll take a bath in the East RiverSoak me from my blindfold to my shoes,Giving me them Lone Justice BluesSee you next verse.
ba-DAAA-da-BUMP!
While that may be true to a point…. part of the fun of Pulps in general is very much akin to 12 bar blues. We may know the structure… we may know when the beats are about to come… but it's the substance in the lyrics that we pay attention to to enjoy.
Y'know – I never thought of it that way – but I think you have something there. Whenever I've explained the nature of episodic, series fiction it usually takes me about an hour and quite a few examples. But comparing it to the Blues in this way is a lot faster!
In case people missed this a week or so back – there is a nice interview with Bob Tinnell and me over at THE PULSE:http://www.comicon.com/ubb/ubbthreads.php?ubb=sho…
Thanks for that link to the interview ! I did miss it and found it a good read and answered a LOT of my questions on why people would want to bring storys/art to Comicmix ;>
Y'know, the dive into the river reminded me of a Tarzan movie I saw as a kid. And I just noticed the "Graystoke Building." Graystoke = Greystoke?
