Outstanding!!!!!!!!!! I knew you guys wouldnt let me down. Now lets not let Grimjack ever go away again.

  2. Todd says:

First Comics 2.0 is finally here.Browser needs some work though. "Best fit for screen" = "least legible fit." Might as well just start loading at "normal" comic page size, you can't normally shrink the page too much and still have lettering legible. You also might want to put a "To be continued" and the date of the next installment at the end. When I tapped the space bar and hit the forward arrow at page 6 (I assume the end of installment) nothing happened and I had to back out of it. I'd also recommend panels not be deeper than half a screen, it may look nice in print, but if you're not on a developer's monitor, it may not fit on one screen. That said, always good to see more Grimjack. When's Sable online?

    • Mike Gold says:

Be just a little patient. We've got about 50 pages of the new Jon Sable Freelance in already and it's fully written. You'll be seeing Jon real soon.Did I mention Maggie? I should mention Maggie.

  8. Todd Livingston says:

Comics! Like comic book comics — ONLINE?? What a great idea!!!!! Site looks terrific – the reader works like a champ!

  9. Michael H. Price says:

Beautiful, just beautiful. Nifty tantalizing beginning, with sufficient early payoff to build the anticipation for What Happens Next. Haven't sensed such a level of excitement for the idiom since the indie-comics watershed of the late '70s and '80s. Reader-system technology allows a sharp focus upon the story at hand. Hoo-hah!

Great opening to the story…interesting new character…great artwork….and the images on the computer screen seem even more vibrant than a glossy papered comic book.I am looking forward to the next installments.

  11. Matthew Ceplina says:

Reader works very well and easy to use. The story is off to a nice start. John Gaunt’s luck is at usual form. Looking forward to next week’s installment.

looks good. got that "classic" feel. Worth the wait…So far

  16. MARK WHEATLEY says:

John, Tim – you guys just keep getting better. Yet there is a part of me that thinks this is 1985 all over again –

  17. Scott Rowland says:

Fantastic! I can't wait to see the next installment. Thanks for bringing Grimjack back!

  18. Paddy says:

  19. J.C. Vaughn says:

Very happy to see Grimjack continuing and particularly doing so in such an interesting format. I can't wait to see where this leads!

  20. Neil says:

The reader works very well. The two-page format makes me feel like I am looking at an actual comic book. The zoom feature looks nice as well. I'm looking forward to reading more.

  21. Chet Williamson says:

Gorgeous stuff, Tim! Can't wait for the rest of the story, but this won't keep me from getting the issues when they come out. And yes, the reader works great!

  22. Tim Tyler says:

Great format and first issue. It's always a pleasure to see Tim and John doing the grimmer! I be back for more.

  23. r link says:

Looks like a winner to me, Tim and John, and all others connected to publication. it has been a loooooooooooooong time since we have laid eyes on the man for hire in a new story and this has the look of old times, which is a good thing.Next up ,i hope, like eagle media has done with marvel characters,GRIMJACK on cd-rom or dvd, so i don't have to handle my comics as much as i do when i reread them at least a half dozen times a year. keep up the GREAT work !!!!looking forward to each forthcoming installment with baited breath

  24. Stephen Bergstrom says:

Grimjack online? Hot damn!! I'm in!

  25. Ed C. says:

Two of my favorite people in comicdom; Ostrander and Truman. I'd love to see this team-up go down in history like Lee & Kirby, Thomas & Smith and Wein & Adams.Great comic and the viewer worked fantastic. Other comics should be posted like this.

  26. Bill Templeton says:

That was ten pounds of awesome in a five-pound bag. This restores my cynical soul… any world with new Grimjack comics by Ostrander and Truman can't be all bad, after all. THANK YOU.

  27. John L. says:

A wonderful start to the ComicMix (r)evolution. It's always a treat to return to Cynosure. I never liked reading books online but this engine was well done and I had no problems reading the pages. Can't wait to see more.

  28. Ron Good says:

Great to see you guys finally telling this story! I hope everyone buys this comic when it's printed, I know I will! PS. Any chance that ComicMix will do a new E-MAN comic? That would be the perfect character for this format, don't you think?

    • Mike Gold says:

I agree, but right now Joe and Nick are self-publishing. E-Man colorist Matt Webb is doing a bunch of work with us, I'm happy to say… and Joe Staton will be visiting Munden's Bar once again in two weeks!

      • Ron Good says:

Hey I'm looking forward to that, Mike! Everything you're doing here is great, but I think I enjoy Munden's Bar and GrimJack the most.

  29. Christopher Mills says:

I am so pleased to see John Gaunt back in action. My favorite comics character of all time, back in the hands of his creators.Life is good.

  30. Larry Shell says:

John and Tim know Jack! 'Im having an 80s flashback and it feels so good! Can't wait for the next installment!

  31. Ron Good says:

The art world doesn't truly get comics. From time to time, curators and gallery owners go through a comics fad, but they don't really get it. Whenever there's one of these artsy comic shows people I talk to are always amazed by "expertise". I'm no art expert! I'm just a nerdy fan who loves the medium. The problem with the art world is that they're still stuck in mid-20th century post-modernist thinking. That's why art is dying. Does the average person actually know the names of any contemporary artists or their work? No, art isn't dying.Art is dead.

    • Mike Gold says:

The "art world" doesn't get anything. They're more removed from the real world than most other types of hardcore fans. They're too busy trying to answer two Zen questions: 1) What is art, and 2) Why are all the other critics such assholes?I had an art history minor in college. I stuck with my major, journalism, because it was less arrogant.

      • Ron Good says:

Wait a minute! Are you saying they're more removed from reality than Trekkies (or schmucks like us who devote our lives to comics)? Those art freaks are REALLY out of it! And yes, as a repented art student myself, I agree. Artists and art wannabes are arrogant.By the way, art is dead. Let's break out the shovels!

  32. Mechi says:

Stumbled on this by accident! Good to see grimjack back: very reminiscent of the early issues. Looking forward to the next installment.

  33. Matt Lazorwitz says:

I found out about this site in the introduction to the Munden's Bar trade, and can't wait to dig into everything, especially new adventures by the Grinner and company!

I loved the story. Is there more Grimjack to come? I'm just rediscovering my favorite badass from Cynosure and would be saddened to think there is no more.

  39. Richard E. Marvin says:

Just picked up issues 3 and 4 together of Manx Cat. I have always admired how John Ostrander continues to show layers to his characters even when you think you know them after all these years. I have been with Grimjack from the beginning and still have all his issues and cross-overs and things from the First days. Sadly took way too long for Gaunt to be available again but looking forward to more–even Twiley. May Bob live forever (or at least we never see his death.)
