Wouldn't Michelle Ryan make a wonderful Selena Kyle?

Or perhaps Helena Bertinelli?

The Proms special is indeed a great delight, with the looks of the children in both wonder and fear as the Doctor's arch-enemies pass through the crowds serves to remind me how revered Doctor Who is in England as compared with Star Trek in the United States. Trek is still considered to be a product of fanboy fatasizing, while Doctor Who is seen by most Brits as a part of their folklore. The police callbox itself is now often referred to as a TARDIS, even by the Queen (!), which drives the British historical society nut.

I actually liked the fourth special quite a bit. Yes, the ending was a little drawn out and the Master chewed a little too much scenery to be really scary. However, the episode got deeper into what it means for a Time Lord to regenerate than the show ever has before. This special worked with the Waters of Mars to show what really happens to the Doctor when he's alone too long and doesn't have someone to balance him out. The Doctor always does the right thing and saves the day, but there's usually no sacrifice on his part, it's just for fun. I liked seeing him struggle with it this time, that's interesting territory for the show.
