The second-most over-rated film of its era, perhaps of all time.

*The* most over-rated, BTW. is *Wizard of Oz* - and it only beats GWtW because they borked up a *good* book making it. Bad as it is, the film version of GWtW is still less dire than the book.

And i'm speaking as someone who's lived in the Atlanta area since 1972, lived for some years within two blocks of "the Dump" and who visited my grandmother at her home within miles of where Tara wasn't, as it were.

It sucks dead moose.

Through a bendy straw.

Uh, Bob, it's Leslie Howard not Trevor Howard. Two very different types.

I consider this film to be one of the most overrated films ever made, "Titanic" being a close second. Scarlett was a golddigger and it seemed to try to portray the South as this ideal paradise until the mean ol' northerners came. The only highlight for me is when Rhett says to Scarlett, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn". That accentuated my thoughts quite clearly.

As someone named after "Her" there is no greater star as far as I'm concerned..Oh except maybe
"Rhett". I'm a Southern Lady and damn proud of it, we can weather any storm and come thru standing...

The best film of all time with the greatest actors of all time. This film is an immortal classic and has remained popular for 70 years. It has passed the test of time. Scarlett O' Hara and Rhett Butler are two of the most well-developed characters in both novels and cinema. The last thing this film is is overrated. So to those idiots who say it isn't worth watching or that Scarlett is nothing but a spoiled little snob, you don't know what you're talking about. I highly recommend this film to anyone and everyone. Four hours of pure amazement!

Just like to remind MrGreenberger that it was not Trevor Howard, but rather Leslie Howard who played the part of Ashley Wilkes of Twelve Oaks . . . .
