NOTE: Hope and Mercy don't show up until the late 1990's (I've been reading through everything since the Byrne revamp, and I'm pretty sure they don't show up until after the Contessa has been written out, and right around the time Metropolis is "upgraded" by the B13 virus, which would be January 2000). So, they wouldn't have been created yet (unless I missed something) at the point when this series was created.

Quite right, RD. Hope & Mercy were wonderful creations for the *good* Superman animated series of the 1990s and I was in error. Still, Miss Morganberry did not at all help reflect the character of the narcissistic and cruel Luthor of the 1986 reboot.

Not having seen these, I'm only guessing - but if (as you seem to indicate) she's based on the Valerie Perrine character from the first movie, then I wouldn't see her working as a good foil to any version of Luthor....
