Thank Glann, for the heads up on pre ordering of this story !! found an on line book shop to get hold of a copy when it comes out !! IF possible could you also do this for any other collections of Comicmix storys so I can PRE order those as well !!! Comic shops are few and far between where I live and would find this an easy way of ordering them !

I like it better than I like a lot of what DC's done with my creation.

Fact check: I created Black Lightning. Trevor designed most of the first costume. Only my creator credit appeared on the character until I inquired about buying out DC after the first series ended. Then Trevor got promoted. By DC.

Shameless request for a review PDF of 1000 COMIC BOOKS YOU MUST READ by Tony Isabella.

You bring up an interesting question, one that's going to come up a LOT when the Kirby copyright expiration and reversion happens: how much of the visual component of the character is part of the copyright ownership. Think of it as saying how much of a movie is the creation of the screenwriter and how much is the creation of the director. I don't think there's any specific case law or precedent on point here.

Glenn...I'm pretty sure there is no PDF copies of the book available, but I'll ask. ComicMix was on the list of websites for which I requested review copies; I'll check on whether that happened or not. I'm hoping these are just bumps in the promotion road.

When it comes to ownership, the one thing I'm sure of is that something isn't work-for-hire just because a publisher says it is, even in the presence of contracts describing a work in those terms. (Of course, in my case, the creation of Black Lightning was not work-for-hire; it was a partnership agreement and DC will never be able to produce a contract stating otherwise because...there was no such contract.) These situations will most likely end up being decided on a case-by-case basis in the courts.

Or it's at the office and Mike already grabbed it.

Are Gerry and Sylvia Anderson getting any royalties on this?
