Okay. I'm blind or something - everybody talks about Satan, but i don't see him...

Satan (AKA Emperor Palpatine) is located between Alexander Hamilton and Mr. Hollywood.

Wow, both pathetic and a lil scary, all at once...

Cool - you've just described organised religion in a nutshell.

The backdrop of the Capitol and the Supreme Court building is impossible. It would take some sort of reality-warping power to move the buildings into that alignment.

You've got Jesus, Satan, and the undead Ben Franklin wandering around and THAT'S what broke your suspension of disbelief?

I like McNaughton's comments on the criticisms his painting has received. This quote - "Not only have I received flack for this painting from Liberals, but also from the Right as well. Why did you include JFK? Why Lincoln? Why Teddy Roosevelt? I painted this picture to reflect my personal feelings about America. This is not a Republican painting." - is hilarious to me; he's all but admitting that the Republican Right aren't claiming Lincoln and TR anymore, if he's getting criticism for their inclusion.

In commenting on JFK, Mr. Willis asserts that right wingers - such as the artist fought against the civil rights movement tooth and nail. In actuality 70 percent of republicans in congress voted FOR the civil rights amendment - as opposed to the mere 30 percent of democrats that supported it. Don't forget, the south was largely DEMOCRAT at the time... I hate stereotypes! (AND revisionist pseudohistorians...)

Awesome painting I love it. What a blessing to be able to live in a country that truly was founded under God's hand.

I wonder how many of the right wing Christians will stop praising this artwork when they find out that Jon McNaughton is a mormon.

I admit the painting is very detailed and Mr McNaughton has some obvious talent. However, I question his interpretations.
