I like a somewhat downbeat, intense Batman - after all, his whole raisin daughter is the death of his parents - but current writers (and the fanboys who feed off themn and give them a major part of their audience, resulting in a feedback loop) have carried it *way* too far.

Brave and the Bold is a wonderful series. This plot reminds me of the time Marv Wolfman and Carey Bates killed the Justice League! It's took the Specter's request of Divine Intervention to resurrect our heroes. But it was never revealed that the part of the Lord was played by Julius Schwartz.

What's great about it is that it's not relentlessly grim and I can let my 3 and 7-year old sons watch without having to worry about nightmares.
