NYCC 2009: Setup day photos
Listen... you can hear the engines beginning to rev...

But what's on the floor? Let's take a look...

Oh no... Spider-Man clones!

Mighty Muggs at the Marvel booth-- with a surprise alternate face for Phoenix.

Dumbrella, as always with their pulse on the zeitgeist of comics. I understand they'll have a garbage can fire running, which I wish was already lit. It was cold out there today.

Wait a minute... what does the Village Voice have to do with comics anymore? Or is their booth already set up, this is all they're going to do?
Sigh...

Wish i could be there - if only because it would be my chance to meet Brooke McEldowney.

I'll tell Brooke you said hi.

Just tell him "Fairportfan" said hi...

I can understand the use and presence of fork lifts (second photo from the top) but is that the rear of somebody's van in the first photo (straight down from the O in comic)?
In the third photo from the top, I can identify everyone except the lady in the pink dress. Who is she?
And do I really need to comment about not wanting to face that version of Phoenix in the fourth photo?

Yup.
Those exhibit halls are often/usually designed so that exhibiotors can literally drive in to offload. In fact, some of the exhibit space in at least one of the hotels we used for the '86 WorldCon here in Atlanta is multi-function - when not needed for exhibition space, it can be used as more parking-garage space.
