Oddsmakers Stop Betting on Paterson Joseph
The Outpost Gallifrey notes that since Rich Johnston’s report Monday that Paterson Joseph will be named the next Doctor Who, the odds on him have fallen dramatically. Bookmakers are said to be no longer accepting bets on Joseph.
Joseph has told BBC News: "I’m afraid I can’t make any comment on it. I’m not a gambler. And I don’t approve of gambling unless it’s for the Grand National."
As previously reported, there’s speculation a hunt or announcement may be made during the Children in Need charity special.
While the British press has filled many column inches and web pages with speculation the odds now look like this:

You know, I'd like to see a female doctor for a season, just to see how that'll work out.Maybe Billie Piper, or Natalie Dormer would be fun to play the Doctor.
This year's Children In Need telethon has already aired. Maybe they mean next year's?As far as possible Doctors goes, I loved Warwick Davis' tongue-in-cheek suggestion: that something goes wrong with the regeneration and Tennant becomes Davis (temporarily), complete with a TARDIS interior rescaled for him, with people having to crouch and always bumping their heads. Sounds like it might be fun for next year's Christmas special. It'll never happen, but it would be fun to see.
At the risk of sounding politically incorrect, which I ain't, while the BBC could always present adventures featuring other Time Lords, there is just too much existing history to alter the visual qualifications for who could portray the Doctor specifically.
Time Lords are not human. Resemblance to human "racial" characteristsics is a relatively minor issue. You have seen Time Lords regenerate into forms of differing ethnic appearances in Planet Of The Spiders and Destiny Of The Daleks.May I recommend Paterson Joseph's role as The Marquis De Carabas in Neverwhere? A half way house between Hartnell and Pertwee…
