Thanks John, your wisdom and insight will be missed here, and I'll continue to look for more on your message board!

Thank you, John. I've enjoyed your comics writing for decades. And I've enjoyed your columns here for the last several months. You have been open, honest, brave and insightful. You can't ask anymore from a writer, except maybe grammar, spelling and punctuation. Those have been good too! I'm sad to see the shift in direction that ComicMix has to take now. The columns, your column will be greatly missed.

It's not often that we get to acknowledge our heroes. It's too rare that we get a chance to meet them, shake their hand or interact with them (even virtually). John, you are a prolific artist and craftsman, whose body of work has stayed consistently strong for decades. Your intelligence, warmth, charm, humor, originality, cleverness and kindness shines through the work you do, both your columns and your comics. You're a good guy, Mr. Ostrander. And you are what I aspire to be. That's what heroes are for.

I wish I had your eloquence and economy of language. I wish I could say what I need to say in fewer words and syllables. I wish I didn't sound so much like a flustered fan-boy geek. Oh well. Sometimes we have to be content and brave with what we are.

I'm putting "Suicide Squad" and "GrimJack" on my Christmas list. And I will look for whatever comics you get to do here or elsewhere. Please continue your essays on your message board. If you write it, we will read. It was your writing that drew me to ComicMix to begin with. Rock On!
