LEGO Batman Happy Meals
McDonald's kids meals features toys based on the upcoming Batman game
September 23rd, hurry up and get here already. All we ever seem to do is build up anticipation for the LEGO Batman videogame (coming to every now-gen game system). To forget about my lack Batman brick bashing I went to McDonald’s for a healthy salad. Really. I swear.
But what do I see spotlighted like the Batsignal, but Happy Meal toys based on LEGO Batman. I can’t escape their cute, grim visages. Offered toys include Batman with Batarang, Robin with Grappling Hook, the Batboat, the Joker Helicopter, Mister Freeze with Ice Blast, the Batmobile, the Penguin Submarine, and the Joker Surprise.
“Is this for your boy or girl?”
“Uhhh… My boy. Yes, my son. Whom I have at home. Waiting for his Happy Meal. By the way, which toy am I getting?”
See the McDonald’s promo page for the LEGO Batman Happy Meals here.

If these wind up in Canada, I'm getting every single one.

I don't get the boy/girl schism in happy meals. it seems inherently insulting to me that girls are given pink fairy ponies while the boys get to play with the race cars.

Thats very true as my little girl would have no problem with Batman joining her other small toys for tea partys !!

After sitting here thinking about this, and after reading the comicmix news I hope none of the Batman toys talk ???

Oooh! Great idea for an after-market enterprise, Lord Snooty!
I'm gonna get &^*%$^% rich on this one!

I got a Bat Boat today. And a funny look from the cashier.

The dead giveaway is if you take a sip from the drink. Or if you choose Diet.

Looks like I need to stop by McDonald's now.
I've never had any problems asking for just the HappyMeal toy. Okay, well, they've never given me any problems. I've occasionally gotten a couple of strange looks. And the employees look at me strange too.

I like that it's a toy, based on a game, based on a toy, based on a comic.
And that the Lego Batman Game toys aren't actually Legos.
Allyn Gibson (4:28 PM on Thu Sep 18, 2008)
The toys β€” they're not LEGO?
Well, that saves me from eating at McDonalds the next week or three. :)
Chris Lisy (2:24 AM on Fri Sep 19, 2008)
Nope, not actually Legos themselves. Which was every disappointing when I stopped in on the way home from work.
The toys are little posed figures or one-piece vehicles in the style of Legos, like you would see in the game.

I've been collecting the Star Wars bobble heads (and toys from fast food joints for years), but I don't ever think I'll feel right ordering a kid's meal. (well, at least since I was 12)
