Of all of their titles, the only one I tried was Dan Dare, and I found it exemplary.

A lot of their stuff seemed to follow in the vein started by Topps and Tekno comics, in that their titles were touted as "Famous Guy's Character-man", when the actual amount of connection Famous Guy actually had in the book was wildly disparate. That and I was always rather curious to see how interested readers would be in so many comics based on Indian gods and legends.

I bought most of their titles and thought that the tie-in with Indian philosophy made their titles distinctive and intertesting. Sadly the American direct comics market seems top consist of people who want to see the same characters and situations recycled ad nausiem. Their innovative European comics by Les humanoids suffered a similar and unjustified fate despite excellent stories and art. I think the success of manga after a very long period of perseverence by publishers such as Viz shows that people's tastes can be educated after a long time of exposure to something new. I have been reading comics for 35 years and I thought virgin were a refreshing change. Lets hope there can be some sort of relaunch.
