Wizard World Chicago 2008: Photo Gallery Pt. 2 - Costumes
Stormtroopers, The Joker, Supergirl and more!
Previously on ComicMix, we brought you a photo gallery showcasing some of the "flavor" of the Wizard World Chicago show.
This time around, the gallery features some of the great costumes worn by fanboys and fangirls as well as some of the more "exotic" staff at the various booths. Heck, there's even one or two celebrities in there just to spice things up a bit more.
As always, be sure to check back right here at ComicMix all weekend for new galleries from the show.

ComicMix Online Managing Editor Rick Marshall isn't the droid you're looking for.

In the Futurama future, women dress like this, I assure you.

Anna Mercury stakes out a spot near the Avatar Press booth.

More Futurama ladies make the rounds.

Wizard World's "Celebrity Guests" Kynt & Vyxsin from Reality TV show The Amazing Race.

Wrestler Gail Kim, another "Celebrity Guest"

American Gladiator "Phoenix" - moe of the show's "Celebrity Guests"

I saw the 2 young ladies in the last picture. Don't know the characters. The one in brown was leading around the one in pink as if she were a concubine. Lotsa fanboy eyes following that duo.
Pictures of Stormtroopers are passe. At the Star Wars panel on Saturday, they marched in a couple Stormtroopers. I thought, "Is that all you've got?" I took a nap. Perhaps to make Stormtroopers pictures more interesting, they should be shown doing adult activities---using the rest room, shooting up, having sex...

"Anna Mercury" is being played by BelleChere. She's a theater major, CosPlayer and designs and constructs all her own costumes. And according to her, she was NOT hired by Avatar. In which case, Avatar got a real steal and they NEED to hire her and fly her out for San Diego. I believe the Rogue, third pic from the bottom, is also BelleChere. My guess is Capt. Morgan is her husband. I'm stunned by the detail in her work. Let's see, of the 18 distinct photos here, two are of the same woman in two different costumes. I'd say BelleChere is definitely a highlight of the Convention. Worthy of an interview?
BelleChere (12:54 AM on Mon Jun 30, 2008)
Thank you for the kind comment, Russ! That is indeed me as both Anna and Rogue. I had a total blast at Wizard World! I just wanted to correct one little thing - Avatar DID pay for my way out there. I apologize if I was misleading. As a huge fan of the new comic, I met Avatar at NYCC as Anna Mercury and they asked if I would join them for Wiz World. To have the pleasure of meeting Warren Ellis, be at a new convention, and be a character I love - I would have been a fool to say no! So while they were very kind to grant me such an opportunity, I wasn't the typical unknowledgable 'booth babe'. ;)

You are welcome, BelleChere. Well, the "Anna Mercury" costume was certainly professional quality. Avatar still got a deal if they only paid for your airfare. Next time you should see if they can pay for accommodations and toss in some autographed swag. Negotiate your way up from there.
