I agree, this and Marvel's Annihlation events have been the best things to come from either publisher in the past couple years. Both for much the same reason - they were fairly self-contained (yes, the two Annhilation series played out through various miniseries, but it was hardly an "event" in the way the term has come to be defined in the modern age), and, frankly there seemd to be little editorial interfernce in the storylines, perhaps because of thier more self-contained nature. They told the story they intended to tell without trying to pad it into extra series that had less to do with storytelling and more to do with trying to seperate completists from their cash.

It would be nice to see more of this kind of storytelling again. I'm not planning to hold my breath, but it would be nice...
