"Kaze no Hana has a lot of characters, and they’re all related to each other somehow, and most of them have magical swords, and…it just turned into a Russian novel in my head..."

In one of my brother David Weber's novels written in collaboration with Steve White, one or the other of them included tha line: "I read a Russian novel once. A bunch of people with finny names sat around feeling sorry for themselves for thirty-seven chapters and then someone's aunt died."
