New Images from 'The Spirit' Revealed
Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson stand in front of a green screen
IGN just posted some of the first images from the upcoming The Spirit movie. Judging from the photos, the movie stars (in order): Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Miller and a green screen. Exciting! Or not.
Here's one of the images:

Honestly, it looks like Jackson was on his way to emcee the ESPYs and wandered onto the Sin City set. Nothing about this evokes the feel of Will Eisner's The Spirit, but I suppose it's too early to say for sure.

Oh, well.
Another of my comic icons totally effed up by someone who apparently thinks he knows better than the creator of the comic what the creator intended...

...and, since it's Miller, i still wonder if Sand Saref, Ellen Dolan or Satin or one of the other strong women Eisner created is going to be the one who turns into a junkie whore.

I heard that Sand Saref uses razor-sharp Ninja Throwing Stars shaped like the Star of David!

My Bad Feeling About This (phrase © long long ago by Han Solo, used under Fair Use doctrine) just got a lot badder when i went to the Official Website and, in the synopsis, found "... Silken Floss, punk secretary and frigid vixen ..."
Setting aside that punk is, like, very very fifteen minutes ago - i thought that making international adventuress and insurance-company-troubleshooter Silk Satin a petite blonde CIA agent in the DC comic was silly, but not too bad... But making "Silken Floss, MD" (title of the 1947 "Spirit" section she first appears in) a "... punk secretary and frigid vixen ..." goes a long way toward answering my semi-flippant question.
