A 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Movie? Stars Say They're Game
Quote of the week: 'I want to see Sarah kissing girls'
I guess it has to do with comic book culture becoming ever more enmeshed in celebrity culture, but it seems like MTV has become the place to go for interesting material in the world of comics and comics-related movies and TV shows.
The latest: At a reunion of Buffy the Vampire Slayer cast members, several spoke favorably of the potential for an all-new Buffy movie. And, of course, they also brought up the recent lesbian tryst in the Buffy comics series.
"I don't know if Sarah [Michelle Gellar] wants to be kissing girls, so for Sarah's sake, we'd say, start from the TV show," said Nicholas Brendon, who played Xander. "But I think for everyone else, start from the comic book. I want to see Sarah kissing girls."
Beyond the question of whether or not to include girl-on-girl action, a few other pitfalls stand in the way of a movie. No script or studio is in place, and Joss Whedon is busily crafting a superhero musical.
Speaking of Whedon, he certainly didn't sound opposed to the project, although he seemed far to dismissive of the comics:
As Whedon said on the panel, "many stars" would have to align — not the least of which would be a certain lead actress wanting to participate. "But if I had to shoot down everything that we're doing in the comics because we're doing a film," Whedon said, "I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it."

I really don't like to sound like a sour sport but I do not want at Buffy movie without Kristy Swanson to exist.

I've got to be one of the biggest Buffy fans there are and Sarah Michelle Gellar does an amazing job. I would love to see a movie come out to continue the Buffy craze. I'll be patiently waiting =]

i would definatly love to see all the cast of buffy get together for a big movie with demons and whatever joss weadon has got up his sleeve.

A Buffy movie just makes sense. Everyone wants to know what Buffy does after her "retirement" from being a slayer. The comics are a little too weird for me. Dawn being giant? That's a bit ridiculous. The movie should ignore the comic.

The comics are what Joss intended to do with the series. So if the T.V show went on with a season 8, the comics are EXACTLY what would have happened. I am glad they didn't continue on with what they are doing in season 8. I do not like the lesbian thing, I feel it is way out of character for Buffy... and I would LOVE a Buffy movie, but without SMG it would be pointless. And I would hate for the movie to be awful. It would ruin the little popularity Buffy has left.

I am 39 years old. Buffy is not just a young persons show. I loved this show and I miss it being on. The characters were a brilliant creation. I actually know a girl at work, who loves it too, and she is 48! I can't wait for the movie and the following spin-off! HINT, HINT. ;)

A MOVIE IS A BRILLIANT IDEA.
The Series was just so good, and one episode can just fill you with so many unprecedented emotions through the stories they tell. i loved each and every character and i dont think i was the only one who cried when spike died. Anya and Spike were a big loss and the movie wouldnt be the same if there was one character that wasnt in it. I love the series, obsessively ( but in a good way) i hope.

I would love to see a Buffy movie. SMG is one of my fav actress' and Buffy one of my fav shows. I would go see it. A movie is a great idea. And I was reading somewhere that SMG was worried about not getting as many movies/shows as she gets older. Buffy would be great. A movie then start the show up again.

I hope a Movie comes out! I would go and have tons of friends that would go with me!! I'm the biggest Buffy fan... Still today I'll watch the episodes over and over.. You can't help but to get sucked into the Buffy universe. Any movie you put out would hit number one In the Box office .. Cause if their is one thing I know, Its Buffy fans... We would go see it Again and again and again... I'll keep my fingers crossed... :)

Okay, lets get serious Joss Whedon. CREATE THE MOVIE! Theres millions of Buffy fans out there! I read somewhere Gellar didnt want to do it. CONVINCE HER! This will hit #1 in the box office for sure! We can really tie up some loose ends. Although, I Dont think it should follow the comic book. I think it should start with a recap of the season finally and then move forward. I vote BUFFY Movie right now in the making! No exceptions, No Buts, it shall be done! Where the hell is a witch when you need one? Any1 know willow's digitz?

The movie should and has to be for the millions of existing fans, you can't have the movie stripped down so that everything is explained to people new to the series else the movie would too bogged down in two many explanations or wouldn't have its prior history.
