I think that, as a primer, Secret Invasion Saga can be a valuable tool for those who don't know the backstory or need a refresher course. If they charged going rate for it, I'd probably agree with you. as long as they didn't sell it as an actual "story." But it was free -- well, your friendly neighborhood retailer had to pay shipping, but it was free to the reader.

I agree that the Secret Invasion hardly smacks of one of those mind-numbing all-encompassing events like Crisis on infinite Secret Crises III, but geez, those things aren't events anymore anyway -- they're the norm. That's what Marvel and DC give us instead of stories.
