You may have found Ilya Salkind to be nice and enthusiastic, but I had a somewhat different relationship with him. This was because, after a screening of about an hour or so of raw footage (from both Superman I and II), my then-boss DC Publisher Jenette Kahn went over to him and, in painstaking detail, explained each and everything she felt was wrong about what she had seen -- from a cinematic viewpoint and not from the point of view of Superman's publisher. Unfortunately, I was standing next to her at the time.

Well, I guess we were all a little enthusiastic back then.
