U.S.S. Enterprise featured in first shot from upcoming Star Trek film
Moviefone recently posted the first photo from the upcoming Star Trek feature film. The shot depicts a somewhat grainy U.S.S. Enterprise.

Alright, let's see if the powers that be paid attention to the fact that this story takes place in a certain time in the Star Trek timeline, and that the Enterprise should not look more state-of-the-art than what we've seen before. We know that Star Wars fell in that trap, and while it is an area that leaves little wiggle room, all attempts should be made to maintain consistent.
Aside from that, I can't wait to see this movie.

I see they've cast Chekov. Wasn't he younger than the original crew and came along later?
Or is the're some fanboy fiction thing that puts him in the same time/place?

From what I've heard (and I'm certainly no expert when it comes to Star Trek) Chekov was at the Starfleet Academy the same time as the rest of the crew, but for whatever reason, he wasn't on the very first voyage. Something along those lines... where's PAD when you need him? LOL...
