Good column, MT! I've been so out of the comics shop loop lately, I wasn't even aware Kyle
had a new comic- from Image, yet! Will check it out.

I'm going to guess that it will be ignored by the political pundits unless something is depicted that they consider too outrageous to ignore, such as flag-burning, graphic torture, Bush and Cheney having sex...pause for everyone to join me in gouging out my eyes...

It was cool enough today to wear my fall coat, so I picked buttons from the bowl near the door. "All One People" on one side and "He Lied, They Died" on the other. I'm glad I kept my buttons from the '60s and '70s; I'm sorry I have to use them, plus the new ones.

Special Forces #1 was great. Here's my highest praise for a war-themed comics story: some of the art reminded me of Jack Davis, and the writing made me miss Archie Goodwin all the more. Great stuff from Kyle, once again.

If anyone needs another nudge to read Special Forces, here it is.

I suspect there haven't been more comics and movies and other entertainment about this particular war because (a) as the invaders/aggressors/occupiers, the US is generally not seen as the good guys here, and (b) we're still in it, and very few people seem all that happy about that.

This war has already gone on longer than the American participation in World War II, and there were lots of movies (and comics) about that. We were the invaders in Viet Nam, and there were plenty of movies, television shows and comics about that.
