Mike,

I have to agree.

Remembering those great NY (and also Chicago) shows gave me the chance to 'fill in the blanks' in my collection, learn about the all the great material that had 'come before', etc.

Even got to stump E. Nelson Bridwell at some cartoon trivia (won a Vaughn Bode poster!).

The greatest single thing I remember is meeting Steranko and a Detroit Triple Fan Fare run by Jerry Bails.

His History of Comics books really became the basis of my desire to learn more about the Golden Age and eventually seek employment in the field.

*sigh*

Mike - one of these days I should count up just how many conventions I've done over the years. Hell - I should just count up the conventions that you and I were both attending. But - at the very least I'm looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the ComicMix gang. And remember - when you need a place to crash, INSIGHT STUDIOS booth 2308 in the Independent Press pavilion - across the "road" from DC Comics and Graphitti Designs will have a preview of the new graphic novel I'm working on with Robert Tinnell: EZ STREET.

You know - these things are not so much fun any more as they are growth experiences! Not that that's a BAD thing.
