That should be Fairbanks, AK - I worked at Gulliver's Books for two years. It's not really a hardship to be camping out there this time of year though...the weather is in the mid-80s and it never gets dark. Plus Gulliver's has a great cafe so the coffee is always available (and they don't close until 11PM in the summer!)

Oddly enough, this story is showing up all over the place (even in British newspapers) but hasn't been covered by the paper in Fairbanks.
