Family Guy beta versions
More Saturday morning cartoons
Okay, technically Family Guy is a Sunday night cartoon rather than a Saturday morning one; let's just go with it.
As you might imagine, Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy did not spring forth fully formed from the pen like Bosko The Clown did, there were earlier versions. Here we have Seth introducing a 1995 early presentation reel of a proto-Griffin that he developed while he was a student at the Rhode Island School of Design, and yes, we have to warn you that it's probably Not Safe For Work:
The Life Of Larry didn't make it, but it did gain enough traction for Cartoon Network to make a short film for its What A Cartoon! show in 1997. Here we see a more fleshed out version of a talking dog that would later become Brian, and an airline pilot that would later develop some kinky habits and become Quagmire.
Based on this, Fox executives hired him to develop a show... and the rest is history.

While he was working on Larry & Steve, Seth was writing the best episodes of Johnny Bravo, including the Schoolhouse Rock parody episode on Sensitivity (featuring Jack Sheldon) and the most evil Scooby Doo parody EVER.
It's amazing how a lot of the gags from that first life of larry made their way to Family Guy.
