This is good stuff. Very powerful. It's nice to see the story settling down into telling a straighter narrative. The drawing of the photo of the scarred slave is amazing. It's a delicate balance being able to show the near photo realism in that drawing and still have it not burst the bubble of belief in the characters holding and talking about the "photo." Von Eeden's deft skill, craftsmanship and seemingly effortless execution with the art on "The Original Johnson" is staggering.
