Another beautiful week of EZ Street. Thanks Mark, Robert and the Comicmix team.

Thanks Craig! This entire effort is a major team play - from the strip to the ever-growing ComicMix site. And the best is yet to come! Stay Tooned!

I'm confused by the comments that are already here. It looks like Craig and Mark were commenting on a episode of EZ Street about a year ago. Gremlins. I guess computer-type gremlins are called "Bugs." There are Bugs in the works.
Anyway, "Lone Justice: Crash!" Great start! Nothing like jumping right in with a cliff hanger/death trap. The action is exciting. I love the colors. I don't think whores (even in the late 20's or early 30's) were as good looking as this bevy or spent as much time topless or in skimpy lingerie as Mark enjoys imagining. But I'm not complaining.
I'm intrigued by this spin off of "EZ Street." And I'm very enthusiastic for this project. I give this episode 5 Stars *****! Wheatley and Tinnell are some of the best creators on ComicMix, which easily makes them some of the best creators in COMICS!
I don't know why ComicMix hasn't gotten the publicity, recognition and readership it deserves. I guess there is more to life than, "If you build it, they will come." The question is, what is the best way to promote ComicMix and specifically, "Lone Justice: Crash"? How can we help make "Lone Justice" the new viral-pop sensation?

Glenn is very overworked around here. To save himself some time he used issue #16 of EZ STREET as a template to set up the LONE JUSTICE: CRASH! issues. But he didn't notice the two comments that were attached to EZ #16 - and so they return like echos from the past. Much like LJ:C! So really - it is just a reinforcement of the basic theme of LJ:C! Are you buying that?
Look - LJ:C! is pulp. Pulp is lurid. Even the pulp published in the 1930s created a world where there were plenty of beautiful, naked women. Why should we hold ourselves to any higher standard. Where would the fun be in that?
As for how our readers can help get the word out about LJ:C! and ComicMix - they should just talk about us - to everyone and do it everywhere. Post reviews! Blog! Network! Put it in their water! Seriously though - if anyone knows of a venue where an interview or story about LONE JUSTICE: CRASH! would be a good idea - feel free to suggest it to us - or to them! Bob Tinnell and I are ready and willing to talk about LONE JUSTICE: CRASH! as much as needed!
And you, sir, have been busy doing that already and we thank you! In fact, if you don't look out, your support of this story about Heroes and Hobos could earn you a title of: THE BUMS' RUSS!

I haven't read EZ street, but I intend to now. Love the art. Very painterly and kinetic. Great design as well for the hero thus far.
MARK WHEATLEY (9:34 PM on Mon Jan 12, 2009)
Thanks, Marc! Funny you mention kinetic. Did you catch my visual reference to NUDE DESCENDING A STAIRCASE?
Russ Rogers (11:31 PM on Mon Jan 12, 2009)
Gustav Klimt in Hammer of the Gods and now Marcel Duchamp in LJ! I'm ashamed to say, I didn't catch the visual pun! No wonder there had to be so many naked, babelicious tarts running down the stairs at the same time. The joke wouldn't work if they had clothes on!
MARK WHEATLEY (8:09 AM on Tue Jan 13, 2009)
Also - THEY couldn't work if they had clothes on!

As a printmaking major who took his fair share of art history, you bet your sweet bippy I did. :) I'd love to swap some trade secrets (I assume you do alot of the work digitally?) e-mail me some time!
MARK WHEATLEY (8:15 AM on Tue Jan 13, 2009)
You want trade secrets? Your wish is my command, sir! Later today Glenn will be posting a video to the ComicMix News Page that will give you a blow-by-blow account of how I go about drawing and inking a page of LONE JUSTICE: CRASH! Take a look at it when it posts and if anyone has questions I will be happy to come up with answers in the comments section. And next week we will be posting a video on how I paint.

Correction - the video goes up tomorrow! That's Wednesday.

Correction to my correction - the video is up now, on Thursday.

An addendum to the correction of the correction. The video is HERE: http://www.comicmix.com/news/2009/01/15/mark-wheatley-dra...
MARK WHEATLEY (1:01 PM on Thu Jan 15, 2009)
Ah - if a man was ever born to be an editor . . .
Russ Rogers (1:11 PM on Thu Jan 15, 2009)
How do I get that job?
MARK WHEATLEY (1:36 PM on Thu Jan 15, 2009)
Well - for Mike Gold - I'm almost sure it involved some shady business dealings that will keep him out of running for a public office anywhere but in Chicago.
John Gunnison (8:32 PM on Mon Jan 12, 2009)
Pulse pounding! Pure pulp! Possibly perfect! Oh...sorry, got carried away. Just what I'd love to do if I could actually draw...a beautiful mix of comic and 30s hero pulp with a heavy dose of the Spicy pulps thrown in for good measure. I loved this as much as I love my pulp! Great job!
MARK WHEATLEY (11:58 AM on Tue Jan 13, 2009)
Wow! That kind of praise from the publisher of ADVENTURE HOUSE is high praise indeed. Thanks John.
