Okay... as usual great Mike Grell story and art, but it leaves me scratching my head because sadly I do not remember when this first appeared.
When and how do Ashes of Eden and his guest appearance in Shaman's Tears fit into the overall Jon Sable continuity?

That's because Ashes of Eden is appearing here first, on ComicMix. It's all new. Tell your friends. Tell them it's new GrimJack and Munden's Bar stories, too.
Continuity-- let's see if I have this straight:
First's Jon Sable Freelance, currently being reprinted by IDW in handsome trade editions (and in some cases, uncensored).
Then Shaman's Tears, which spins off into Bar Sinister, both available to read here on ComicMix.
Then the recent JSF IDW series, Bloodtrail, also available in lovely trade paperback.
And now the new storyline, Ashes of Eden.
Since everybody asks, Marv Wolfman's Sable series, while exceptional in many regards, is not part of Mike Grell's continuity. Think of it as existing on Earth Sable2, if you must. Perhaps we can get Marv to write a story combining the two earths--
--no, because then someone will come along and mess it up in 2017.

Saw the comments on the main page. My brain is confused. I read the first episode of Ashes of Eden, thought I had read it before, and so haven't been following since. (I'm on dial up, and it sometimes takes 10-15 minutes just to load an episode.)
Had this been previewed somewhere? How could I have been so familiar with the art and story in the first installment? Deja vu? A newly formed and since lost prescience? Help me, Mr. Wizard!

No clue why they're familiar to you, other than the comfortable familiarity of Mike Grell work. If there was a preview, I don't know about it-- and being the colorist/production guy/assistant editor, I would have been the guy to send it somewhere.
Perhaps you were just familiar with the story of DeBeers and the diamond cartel that they hold.
