Funny thing about Fred. He used to subscribe to my fanzine NUCLEUS back in the late 60s. And he would send letters. He was very impressed with all the energy and creative work that comic books were inspiring in the fans. He ended up writing a book about it all and reprinted material from my fanzine. I found it all very confusing as a kid. Apparently the most evil man the comic book industry ever knew was a fan of my crude efforts.I also think the following is a great link for some perspective on how society is always looking for a scapegoat to blame for the "failings" of our young people. Way back when dime novels were getting a start – back in the late 1800s and early 1900s – they were blamed for everything currently reserved for modern media. Take a look. Sad and funny stuff.http://www.geocities.com/ruritanian_muglug/dime.h
