John Ostrander

John Ostrander started his career as a professional writer as a playwright. His best known effort, Bloody Bess, was directed by Stuart Gordon, and starred Dennis Franz, Joe Mantegna, William J. Norris, Meshach Taylor and Joe Mantegna. He has written some of the most important influential comic books of the past 25 years, including Batman, The Spectre, Manhunter, Firestorm, Hawkman, Suicide Squad, Wasteland, X-Men, and The Punisher, as well as Star Wars comics for Dark Horse. New episodes of his creator-owned series, GrimJack, which was first published by First Comics in the 1980s, appear every week on ComicMix.

    I love the Ostrander/McDonnel Suicide Squad. Waller was one of the reasons for that. She faced down the Batman! That makes her officially awesome and one of the really interesting characters that the DCU has. Making her skinny and hot is pretty much a betrayal.

    The Wall’s redesign (I assume they call her “The Fence Post” now) is one of the many, many reasons I don’t regret giving up on most monthly titles ten years ago.

    OLD versions is much better, shes hard and bad ass

    New 52 version is just more tits – lame

    New 52 sucks in general anyway, DC ruined their whole Universe for a quick buck.

    EARTH 2 good though, but you cant beat the modern classic DC Universe, all they did was Ultimate it but ruined long running titles.
